Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s your booking process like?

A: After confirming my availability, I like to schedule a time to talk on the phone about your vision, and picking the perfect package for the wedding day. I will also answer all the questions that you may have. After that, when you’re ready to move forward with the booking, reach back out to me and I will send you an invoice plus a contract which you will be able to view/sign online.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: There is a retainer payment needed to lock the date with me, and it will be deducted from the final balance due. The amount depends on the wedding package and it goes from $750 to $1500.

Q: Do you do video, or work with any videographers?

A: I like to photograph the day as it happens without much posing involved. Because of this unobtrusive style of shooting, I can’t do my best work when there are videographers present. Videographers usually carry bigger equipment, like stabilizers and tripods, and work closer to the people they’re recording, making it difficult for me to achieve the natural, candid look I always aim to show in my photographs.

Q: Do you edit every photo?

A: Yes, every photo is exposure corrected so it doesn’t look too bright or too dark, then digitally developed to have my signature look with a natural, warm, and classical feel without excessive sharpening or saturation.

Q: How will my pictures be delivered?

A: They will all be delivered as digital files through an online gallery.

Q: How many black and white pictures do you deliver?

A: Black and white photos are great for capturing those special candid moments. The number depends on many factors like lighting, colors at the venue, vibe, and more, but generally, I'd say about 10% of all the pictures I provide are in black and white. Plus, for each black and white photo, you'll also get the color version as part of the original gallery.

Q: What if we run out of coverage time during our wedding and we need you to stay for longer?

A: Sometimes we wait a little longer for guests to arrive at the ceremony, or dinner goes on a bit longer than planned. It’s not uncommon to have delays during the big day, and I don’t mind staying for an extra 10-15 minutes to capture a special event that was delayed. But if you need me to stay for longer, I am glad to add 30 mins/ 1 hour to the package for an extra $225/$450.

Q: Do you charge travel fees?

A: There are no travel fees for locations up to 35 miles from Lake City - Seattle. For locations beyond 35 miles, the cost varies but for reference, going to Tacoma would be $50, Snoqualmie Pass $75 and Leavenworth $150.

Q: Do you charge taxes on your services?

A: Every licensed photographer in Washington is required to collect sales taxes. Even with a digital delivery of the product, Washington State law generally treats digital photographs and tangible photographs in the same manner for tax purposes.
